A new dental office can feel unfamiliar. We designed the first visit at Cambie Dental to be thorough but unhurried — because the best care starts with understanding you.
What to bring with you
A few simple items make your first visit smoother and faster.
- A valid photo ID
- Your dental insurance card, if you have one
- A list of medications you currently take
- Any relevant dental records or recent X-rays from a previous office
If anything on that list is missing, do not stress — we can still see you. It just helps us plan faster.
Arriving and checking in
When you arrive, our team greets you at the front, confirms your paperwork, and gets you settled in one of our operatories. Arrive 10 minutes early to complete intake forms if you have not already filled them online.
We believe the first appointment sets the tone. If you leave feeling heard, the rest of your care follows naturally.
— Dr. Morris Huang
We review your medical history carefully — medications, allergies, and past dental work all inform the care we recommend. Nothing feels like a checklist; it is a real conversation.
The comprehensive exam
The exam covers teeth, gums, bite, and soft tissues. We check for decay, wear, and early signs of gum disease. An oral cancer screening is part of every first visit at Cambie.
If imaging is needed we capture it with our low-radiation digital sensors. You see every image on screen as we explain what you are looking at — no mystery about what is going on in your mouth.
Leaving with a plan
Most first visits run 60 to 90 minutes. You leave with a personalized care plan, written treatment estimates where applicable, and clear answers to any questions you brought in.
That is the full first-visit experience — no pressure, no rushing, just a careful foundation for the care ahead.
