Early Detection
& prompt treatment provided

We examine your lips, tongue, cheeks, gums, throat, and neck for any signs of concern.
Catching oral cancer early dramatically improves treatment success and survival rates.
A quick screening at every visit means you're always staying ahead of potential problems.
An oral cancer screening is a visual and physical examination of your mouth, tongue, throat, and neck. We look for sores, lumps, discolouration, or texture changes that could indicate early-stage cancer or precancerous conditions.
Sores that don't heal, lumps, red or white patches, difficulty swallowing, or persistent pain.
A quick visual exam and gentle palpation of your mouth, throat, and neck. No pain involved.

Discolored patches on your tongue, gums, or inner cheeks can be precancerous. A screening lets us evaluate these spots and determine if a biopsy or monitoring is needed.
Numbness in your lips, tongue, or face that appears without cause warrants investigation. It can indicate nerve involvement that needs prompt evaluation.

At least once a year for most patients. Higher risk factors — tobacco use, heavy alcohol use, HPV exposure, or family history — may warrant more frequent checks.
No. It is a visual exam and gentle palpation of your mouth, throat, and neck. Most patients barely notice we did it.
Tobacco and heavy alcohol users, patients with HPV exposure, those over 40, and anyone with a family history of oral cancer face elevated risk.
We explain clearly what we see, discuss whether monitoring or a biopsy is the right next step, and refer to a specialist if needed. No panic — just a clear plan.
